East Hampden Starbucks Closes in Sept. 26 Denver-Area Cuts

Starbucks’ coffeehouse at 9925 E. Hampden Ave. in Denver has a September 26, 2026, closing date in an independently compiled closure tracker. The tracker records two more Denver-area stores closing that day, changing the options for customers who used those locations.

The other addresses are 10005 Grant St., Unit F—which the tracker identifies as Thornton-area despite its Denver postal address—and 3820 Wadsworth Blvd. in Wheat Ridge. The dates come from the independent tracker. Starbucks did not publish a local store-by-store list in its September 24 announcement.

What Starbucks says about the cuts

Starbucks said it would close approximately 250 of its more than 18,000 North American coffeehouses later that week. Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams said the company selected locations where it did not expect to deliver its intended coffeehouse experience consistently or see a path to acceptable financial performance. The announcement does not specify which consideration applied to any of the three local addresses.

For affected workers, Starbucks says it will offer transfers where possible and severance support to those it cannot place. It also says it will direct customers to nearby coffeehouses. The announcement does not establish a transfer or name a replacement for any of the three stores.

Starbucks’ September 24 filing says its board approved further actions September 22. The company projects about $300 million in restructuring charges, including approximately $200 million in cash charges and $100 million in noncash charges. That is a company-wide forecast, not a cost assigned to Denver-area stores.
