Arc Plans $1.99-a-Pound Clothing at Denver Outlet; Sales Will Be Final

Arc Thrift Stores is preparing to convert its 255 S. Hooker St. shop in Denver into an outlet where clothing, shoes and purses will cost $1.99 a pound. KYGO reports that the conventional store closed temporarily for the conversion. KYGO and Denver7 give Oct. 5, 2026, as the planned opening; Arc’s outlet page still says “coming soon” and does not confirm that date.

For shoppers who knew the conventional store, the change means paying by weight for several categories rather than by individual item price. Arc’s posted rates also put accessories and hats at $1.99 a pound and listed housewares at 99 cents a pound. Books, specified media and stuffed animals are priced at 25 cents each; furniture is listed at $5, $10 or $15 by size and color-tag category. Arc says managers have discretion over category decisions.

Return rules change with the format

Arc’s regular-store policy allows qualifying items to be returned within 10 days for merchandise credit. At the planned outlet, all purchases will be final: Arc lists no refunds, exchanges or discounts. Shoppers considering the new prices will need to check items before paying.

A narrow price comparison

Goodwill of Colorado’s outlet price list, effective Jan. 1, 2026, charges $1.99 a pound for clothing, shoes and purses—the same posted rate as Arc’s planned outlet for those categories. Goodwill lists books at 69 cents each, compared with Arc’s 25 cents. Those category rates do not establish what either store will have in stock or what a complete shopping trip will cost.

Arc lists shopping and donation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily for the South Hooker outlet. Because its page has not confirmed the reported opening date, shoppers planning an Oct. 5 visit can check the outlet listing for its status.
